Where It All Started.
It all began in 1945 with Coy Theobalt’s love for perfectly aged, expertly seasoned steaks. Folks said the food was so good, he should open a restaurant. And that’s just what he did right here in Hot Springs, Arkansas. In 1972, he turned over the tongs to us. We’ve carried on his tradition now for four generations.
Treat People Right
Want a good business and good customers? Work hard and treat people right. That’s all there is to it. We’ve been preached that our whole lives and keep that motto going, even with this new world and internet stuff. We always try and have a little fun and make some great memories along the way, too! And we like to hear about your memories of Coy’s, too!
Growing Up
As the years went on, our little restaurant grew. We were slinging some food. But we always made sure to serve the freshest, best tasting meals around. The name Coy’s means something to everyone who visited. Even the movie stars!
Big Britches
We eventually grew to 3 locations and 233 employees. We hosted Presidents, celebrities, Miss Americas and Bass Master Hall of Fame members. We had a whole Bass Master’s Hall of Fame wall in the Mountain Pine Room. Now what’s more Southern than that?
Pride Cometh Before a Fall
Just when it was all rollin’ we suffered a fire at our main location in Hot Springs. Things were tough after that. We moved on and found other things to keep us busy, but we’ve always thought about those amazing meals we served and seasonings we developed. We’ve decided to share those with y’all.
